Thomas Myers
Interim Pastor
Pastor Thomas Myers has been our interim pastor since January of 2024. He has a heart for evangelism and people.
Thomas graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Philosophy and Religion. In college, he traveled and preach the gospel on a ministry team called YouthQuest. Later he received a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Thomas loved the time and ministry he was able to do while on campus. After graduating, he pastored at his home church in Miami Florida for about four years. There he was the head of the evangelism ministry, the life group ministry, and the young adults ministry.
In 2020 both he and his wife Kylie moved back up to Wake Forest, NC where he finished a Master of Theology (ThM) and is currently working on his PhD in Systematic Theology (at Southeastern). Since he’s been in North Carolina he has traveled and preached and done interim pastor work. Thomas recently finished teaching high school Bible at Burlington Christian academy (where he was for two years) and is happy to be helping with the Momeyer Baptist Church family in their time of transition.

Chris Sorensen
Associate Pastor for Senior Adults
Pastor Chris Sorensen and his wife Linda have been married for over 50 years! They continue to set a great example of serving the Lord together. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
Chris walked away from a career with the Carolina Power and Light Lake Hyco Power Plant in Roxboro, NC on the day of his 20th work anniversary to accept God’s call to ministry at age 42 and never looked back. God gave Chris a burden to serve Him that could only be fulfilled by total surrender to a life of ministry. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminaryin Wake Forest, NC and pastored 4 churches over the next 22 years.
Chris faithfully pastored – Harriet Baptist, Henderson NC (1995-2001) – Timberlake Baptist, Roxboro, NC (2001-2007) – Union Chapel Baptist, Clarksville, VA (2008-2014) – Crystal Hill Baptist, South Boston, VA (2015-2017). Chris also served Momeyer Baptist in the nearly yearlong interim period leading up to Pastor Clay being called.
